The programme

This course aims to meet the needs of students who want to develop a career countryside or environmental conservation.

The course provides a carefully balanced blend of practical and theoretical work for those students who want to pursue a nationally recognised qualification in this area.

Special Features

You will benefit from industry experience working alongside country park rangers, work on estates, with the RSPB, conservation work, and environmental education and forestry work. There will be visits to various establishments looking at aspects of conservation and you will use the College estate as an outdoor working area for practical, estate skills and conservation management.

Work for Conservation and Environmental Management, Forestry Commission and Wildlife organisations

There is the opportunity to progress to Foundation Degree and Honours Degree courses in Wildlife Conservation, and Environmental Management.

Entry Requirements

4 GCSEs at grades A-C OR A relevant BTEC First Diploma or equivalent OR National Certificate in a ‘Land-Based’ subject OR “Life experience” will also be taken into account when considering applications from mature students. In addition two satisfactory references are required.
