NVQ Level 1 Land-Based Operations
The programme
This programme has been developed for learners interested in working in the land-based sector. It is an introductory level course that is designed to allow students to develop both confidence and skills through working in the land based sector whilst studying an NVQ Level 1.

- Safe and effective working practices
- Transportation of supplies
- Maintenance of structures and surfaces
You can specialise by choosing three of the following optional units from the list below:
- Prepare and operate a tractor
- Prepare and operate a power vehicle
- Maintenance of grassland
- Maintenance of equipment
- Care of livestock
- Livestock accommodation
- Movement of livestock
- Planting and establishing plants
- Maintaining plants
- Habitat management work

People who take this course could go on to..
The First Diploma in Agriculture or Horticulture whilst others will start careers in the industry through our Apprenticeship programmes.
Entry Requirements
Learners must demonstrate an interest in the land-based sector through application and at interview.

1 year full time (3 days a week)
