The content of this programme is aimed at the study of horses and the equine industry. A large part of the programme involves working in the College’s equine unit.

Special Features
One of the most popular aspects of this course is the programme of visits to major events and different yards, including Racing, Polo, Dressage and Police. These visits will give you the opportunity to investigate career routes that you may not have considered.
The course involves building on practical skills and developing your theoretical knowledge using a wide range of assessment methods.
There may be the opportunity to gain additional qualifications such as BHS Stage 1, BHS Riding and Road Safety. You may also get the chance to compete on college horses and take part in riding teams.
People who take this course could go on to..
Follow careers within the equine industry. Some students choose to progress on to the National Diploma Horse Management if a merit is achieved.
Entry Requirements
4 GCSEs at grade D OR Level 1 qualification in a related subject OR “Life experience” will also be taken into account when considering applications from mature students AND provide proof of ability in riding and stable management to Pony Club C standard or equivalent must be presented or demonstrated (we offer riding assessments as part of our interview programme). In addition you should provide two satisfactory references.
