CACHE Entry Level Certificate in Preparation for Child Care
The programme
This programme is a taster for studying Child Care and provides hands on experiences. Particular emphasis has been placed on the development of the practical skills, knowledge and confidence that will allow you to progress on to another course.
What you study
- Pregnancy and the responsible parent
- Caring for young children 0-3 years11 months
- Play and learning in the home 0-3 years11 months
- Basic Skills
Special Features
This is a very practical programme that includes learning life skills such as bathing a doll and the preparation of baby foods. Opportunities may be offered to visit the College Child Care facility, ‘Jubilee Nursery’
Students may be offered the opportunity to gain vital industrial qualifications, such as First Aid
This certificate does NOT give you a qualification to work with children, but is a step towards Further Education and training.
People who take this course could go on to..
To study for the CACHE Foundation Award for Caring for Children.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements, though an interest for the subject is essential. Students must demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment at interview.
In addition two satisfactory references are required. As this programme involves working with children, a satisfactory CRB check.
