Level 2 Diploma in Bricklaying
The programme
This course provides the skills and underpinning knowledge you need to become recognised as a bricklayer. You will gain practical experience in our fully equipped professional workshops. As well as bricklaying, you will learn about arches and openings, various types of walling and all aspects of building.
You will be required to supply safety footwear.

The course is unit based proving competence in practical and theory work by means of a portfolio. When you have achieved competence in all your units you will then take practical phase tests and health and safety tests.

Special Features
The Level 2 Diploma is for those who are unable to provide suitable evidence of competence from the workplace. It is possible to upgrade this to a full NVQ qualification at a later date if work evidence can be obtained.

Apprenticeships and Advanced Apprenticeships in Construction; Advanced Construction Award; NVQ Level 2; NVQ Level 3 construction courses or employment in the construction industry. The course may also help you gain industry status as a 'qualified bricklayer' or 'skilled operative' on the CSCS card scheme.
Entry Requirements
4 GCSEs at grade D or above or successful completion of the Foundation Construction Award. In addition two satisfactory references are required.
