The programme

This programme has been designed to provide a flexible learning environment to enable students to develop both the theoretical knowledge and practical dog-handling skills required for success in any aspect of the canine industry.

A distance learning option is available with learning materials dispatched each week and access to a dedicated interactive website.

Special Features

This programme has been specifically designed to provide both the knowledge and skills that are required for positions in the canine behaviour, training and care industry. These skills and knowledge are delivered through a combination of academic study and practical sessions. There is the opportunity to study at the College on a part-time basis or why not follow our distance learning option? Both options of study include two block weeks each year to fulfil the criteria. The assessment of this course is based on assignments, practical handling/training skills. There are no formal written examinations.

Entry Requirements

80 points at Advanced level (40 at A2) or equivalent

OR

National Diploma at PPP

OR

2 National Awards at pass

OR

NVQ Level 3 in a related subject with a satisfactory reference

OR

"Life experience" will also be taken into account when considering applications from mature students

Duration

3 years part-time. This course also involves two weekends and two block weeks each year which are compulsory.
