I am proud to say that the Equine Centre at Bishop Burton College is undoubtedly one of the best in the UK, offering a wide range of top-class facilities for all abilities of student, rider and competitor.

Over the past year and a half, these facilities have been improved and expanded as part of the College’s £25million redevelopment programme and as a result the College has hosted its first Para Equestrian International Competition ever in Yorkshire.

The FEI European Pony Championships saw 300 of the Continent’s best young riders descend on Bishop Burton and battle it out to be crowned European Champions in eventing, dressage and show jumping. Needless to say, the competition was a resounding success.

If you choose to come and study one of the many Equine Courses at the College, or if you wish to hire any of the facilities, you are guaranteeed to receive the best training in the sector and the use of outstanding resources, which include the new Olympic-standard Bishop Burton Arena.

In addition to the magnificent new Arena, the Centre also boasts two further indoor schools and three new outdoor arenas, all of which are used by students and for many competitions and events.

A horse walker, treadmill, therapy rooms and solarium complement the equestrian facilities, while a state-of-the-art practical unit allows students to develop their husbandry skills and a six kilometre hacking track meanders across the estate and offers unrivalled views of the stunning East Yorkshire countryside.

The latest exciting addition to our raft of facilities is the Equine Therapy and Rehabilitation Centre, which will provide preventative and rehabilitative treatment for performance horses and ponies.
