Choose your specialism

Our Level 3 Countryside Management course covers woodland management, wildlife ecology and conservation management, estate skills, and more. If need to, you can study Maths and/or English alongside your qualification too.

If you’d like to focus on game management, our specialist Level 3 Countryside Management (Game) course covers subjects including deer management, pest and predator control, shoot management, and stalking and shooting.

All our Countryside Management courses open up opportunities for you to progress to further study, including degree level, or to gain employment in the great outdoors.

Gain work experience

These courses involve a significant amount of work experience and, ideally, you’ll have secured a work placement prior to starting your course.

We also offer a Level 4 Countryside Ranger Apprenticeship where you can develop your knowledge whilst working. You will learn how to manage, maintain, conserve and protect the natural environment and inspire people to engage with green spaces.

Grow your knowledge with exciting study trips

In recent years, our Countryside Management students have benefitted from visiting a range of different environments, from Studley Royal Park in Yorkshire to Yellowstone National Park in the United States. These study trips offer students the chance to observe different habitats and ecosystems up close, learn about different conservation techniques and meet experts in the field.
