The Programme

This Foundation Degree is for those who wish to pursue a career in design. Design is fast becoming a multi-disciplinary industry creatively combining various areas of practice including interior, landscape, 3D, multi-media, exhibition and graphic design. The course aims to provide the student with the breadth and depth of knowledge and practical skills needed to succeed in this challenging and competitive area.

Special Features

The programme provides practical, vocational and academic study in a range of design disciplines through exciting and challenging live design projects, and the opportunity to specialise in major projects in the area(s) of the students choice. These projects are underpinned by work placements which provide the student with crucial professional experience within the sector. Students who successfully complete the Foundation Degree Design are guaranteed a place on the BA Honours Design Final Year programme.

Entry Requirements

Successful applicants are normally expected to have a minimum of 120 UCAS points at Advanced Level (60 at A2) or Level 3 Extended Diploma or Equivalent plus satisfactory reference. Life experience will also be taken in to account when considering applications from mature students. An admissions assessment may be used in certain circumstances.
