The Programme

The Honours Degree Final Year emphasises the integration of knowledge and skills gained at Foundation Degree level in order to provide a high quality programme of study in garden design with a strong professional and vocational focus. This programme reflects the breadth and creative potential of contemporary garden design practice, providing a balanced package of garden design theory, research and practical application. The course allows the student to explore in depth identified themes relevant to garden design practice, and includes a self-directed final project and dissertation. Their portfolio will reflect the strength of their own aspirations and priorities within the area of garden design.

Students are encouraged to explore the full potential of their own creativity on an individualised programme tailored to address and sustain their personal ambitions as garden designers. They will apply concepts and principles in exciting and innovative new frameworks and relationships, pursuing their own chosen areas of interest and involvement. Live projects, competition design and relevant study visits underpin the rich practical and theoretical content.

Entry Requirements

A relevant Foundation Degree (or related HND at merit level) or Ordinary Degree or relevant 'life experience' will be taken into account when consdiering applications from mature students.
