Special Features

This qualification allows students to gain practical experience with a range of animal species including dogs, small mammals, reptiles and birds. Students also have the opportunity to select an area of interest which they can study in greater depth through an investigative project.

People who take this course could go on to

Progress onto the final year of the Foundation Degree Animal Management and Behaviour or the second year of the degree in either BSc Applied Animal Science or the BSc in Applied Animal Behaviour and Training. Alternatively some students have pursued a career in the Animal Management industry in boarding kennels or catteries, welfare organisations, grooming parlours and pet shops.

Entry Requirements

1 pass at Advanced Level or equivalent OR relevant life experience will be taken into account when considering applications for this programme. An admissions assessment may be used in certain circumstances.
