The Programme

This is an innovative programme enabling students to study the wide range of complementary therapies which are now available to promote animal health and rehabilitation. This programme covers animal behaviour and husbandry as a background to understanding how holistic therapies and rehabilitation techniques may be best applied to ensure continued health in a variety of animal species. Experience can also be gained through College links such as advice, guidance and learning from practitioners working in this field.

Essential Information

Students on this course are required to gain a minimum of 112 hours of work experience.

People who take this course could go on to

Further their careers within the animal management industry and/or progress to the third year degree level study on the BSc (Hons) in Applied Animal Science or BSc Animal Behaviour & Welfare. Block sessions are a compulsory aspect of the course.

Entry Requirements

Successful applicants are normally expected to have a minimum of 120 UCAS points at Advanced Level (60 at A2) or Level 3 Extended Diploma or Equivalent plus satisfactory reference. Life experience will also be taken in to account when considering applications from mature students. An admissions assessment may be used in certain circumstances.
