The Programme

In the UK unprecedented change has been experienced within the agricultural industry. This has led to many farms looking to increase their efficiency and productivity through increasing emphasis on mechanised systems. This programme enables students to develop both the knowledge and skills needed to work in an increasingly mechanised agricultural sector. The development of both skills and knowledge is facilitated through a combination of academic study and practical classes on the College campus.

Special Features

This programme gives a broad understanding of agricultural production and application of mechanisation within the land based sector. The College has the advantage of a working commercial farm on site which allows our students to see real farming in practice alongside their theoretical studies. Throughout this programme students are encouraged to develop the transferable skills necessary to thrive in a challenging and competitive business environment.

People who take this course could go on to

Many students will progress to the final year of a degree programme whilst some have chosen to go straight into industry. Roles have included assistant farm managers and sales roles in machinery dealerships.

Entry Requirements

120 UCAS points at Advanced Level (60 at A2) or Level 3 Extended Diploma or Equivalent plus satisfactory reference. Life experience will also be taken in to account when considering applications from mature students.
